ABOUT GIRL ARMY

Girl Army is a self-defense collective that began in 1994 through Suigetsukan. Our members are feminists, queer and sexpositive activists, and anti-authoritarians. We are a community based collective, run entirely on volunteer work and some student contributions.

JOINING GIRL ARMY

Anyone who completes the Basics Course is automatically a member of the collective and is welcome at our bi-monthly meetings, which are part meeting and part training (1/2 meet, 1/2 mat). Members can receive training to participate in classes as attackers (uke training) and eventually can qualify to teach classes. Members can also come to our yearly retreat.

ABOUT SUIGETSUKAN

Suigetsukan is a collectively run, non-profit martial arts school in Oakland. For information about classes in Jujitsu, Aikido, or Toyama Ryu Battodo, call 510.452.3941 or visit their website: http://www.suigetsukan.org
